The Beginning of My Memoir

When mom was about to give me birth, daddy wasn't there. He was in battlefield. Grandma took a cab to take mom to the hospital. I was a big, healthy boy and mom named me Yahya, after an Arab writer, who put together they prayers of Imam Zayn al-Abidin, the forth imam of the Shia Islamic sect.

Friend Numero Uno

His name is Alireza. We grown up together and know each other very well. Sure there are some differences, but none never tries to change the other one. We do not fully trust each other, but ironically this helped our friendship to last for over 14 years.

The Worst Teacher I Ever Had

It's really hard to choose one of all those stupid and cruel teachers as the worst teacher! They drained all my passion and curiosity with their medieval methods of teaching...

Then, I decide not to name one of them, but the whole education system of Iran as the worst teacher I ever had.

I really feel pity for myself as an innocent child who was deprived of all the useful information that he needed for survival.

My Question In Need of an Honest Answer

Obviously I would ask "what do you think of me?". But you know, thats not a very creative question and I hate to be predictable! So I would ask "whats the biggest mistake of your life?" or even better; "What are you ashamed of?".

Weekend Writing Challenge: Sometimes We Fight

Me: I don't blame him if he gave all the information to the Americans.

My colleague: Why? that would be treason.

Me: You know, for me, just seeing a giant black CIA agent would be enough to confess everything!

My colleague: Aha... I think even our offices security men could make you talk. No need to find a giant one.

The World Would Be a Better Place If...

I'm afraid of the people who want to make the world a better place. Why don't you concentrate on your own life? I think if everybody minds his own business and simply does not hurt the others, the world would be a better place.

If I Could Relive Any Day of My Life

Maybe it would be the day I decided to study law. Law never suited me. I'm not a serious man and I don't like challenge. I love fun, art, literature, etc.

The funny thing is that I already plan to have a phd of law.
